All:

I have attached a proposed by-law change document.  Please use track changes and
make your inputs.  I need them back NLT 15 Sept so that CJ and I can incorporate all
of your proposed changes and get this out to the By-law committee.

Greetings All:

Each Thursday Post 837 has $1.00 domestic beer.  We also serve snacks at
approximately 6 pm.  VFWMG 8 has been asked to participate and provide snacks
once a month.  I don't think this is to much to ask.    Come on out and enjoy.

Commander Silva has offered us an opportunity to have a monthly fund raiser at the
post.  This will be in the form of preparing a lunch for our Sunday BINGO folks.  This
is not a one or two person job.  How can you get involved?  Volunteer to provide
some of the main course or a side dish for the date we have.

Steak night.  Again the date for
Jan 2009 will be announced. All members of VFW Post
837, its' Auxiliaries and the motorcycle group receive a free steak if it is your birth
month.

Membership:  It is time to get out and start looking for those new members not only
for the motorcycle group but for the VFW.  I would like to see this coming year more
activity in ride events in the San Antonio area and possibly we could get in touch
with the organizers and have a recruiting/information booth at the events.
Remember that as VFW and Auxiliary members we are recruiters and should have
both VFW and Motorcycle Group applications with us.  You never know when you will
run into someone that may want to join.

I want to take this opportunity to welcome two new members to the group.  Lee (Troll)
Inabinet from New Braunfels.  Lee is an Afghanistan and Iraq vet.  He is retired U.S.
Air Force (Aim High).
Also we would like to welcome Danielle (Lady Fire) Moalem. Danielle is currently an
Air Force K-9 Police Officer and a fabulous singer and Fire Dancer!

I am going to close for now.
